Almaty, Kazakstan

Description: The dominant project by russian architect's Zenkov. Svyato-Voznesensky Cathedral (Cathedral of Holy Ascension) was built in 1904. Almaty's building which survived the 1911s earthquake. The cathedral is built entirely of wood, and without nails. The walls are painted with sharp colours, mainly blue, green and red. The snow-capped mountains just stands behind the church's domes and the bulbs and give the city an incredible amazing atmosphere.
